Day 7

Day 7 was among my favorite of my whole trip to Saskatchewan.  Morgan, Rebecca and I got our fishing gear packed after a few hours of trying to pry Morgan out of her bed.  Rebecca brought along a Barbecue so when we got to Simmie, we fired up some dogs.  We mainly just sat in the sun, fished, sun tanned and swam.  It was fun as Hell.

On our way to Simmie we stopped at Simmie Bible Camp to have a visit with Kjell Anderson who had been counselling there.  Instead we found Jumo Mizu.  I hadn't seen Justin in quite a while so it was good to get a hug from him.  He's in Thailand right now I believe, so he's keeping himself quite busy.

If I remember correctly, I caught two fish, Morgan caught two and Rebecca caught one.  It was a successful day as far as angling went.  The water was nice and warm so we spent a lot of time swimming around the dock.  Here are the photos...

Day 5-6

Day 5 arrived with a good morning in my old bed. I made my rounds downtown and visited old fellow employees at the Co-op and I stopped in at Penny's store for a chat. I visited Jenna at Prairies Portraits and Nick at The Source. Nick wasn't in, but they told me he'd be going to Eastend to do a service on a dish.

I called Nick and he came and picked me up and I was his apprentice for the afternoon. He was scaling a HOT rooftop for most of the afternoon and I hung out and helped wherever I could.

After a long hot afternoon we headed back to Shaunavon and I went home. That night my neighbour Morgan and I had a sleep over. It was pretty much a facebook fest'. We had 300 playing on one monitor and both our laptops on our laps all setup on her bed. I enjoyed it as it's nearly impossible to not enjoy that movie and spying on people's facebook profiles.

We slept in for the morning and for the afternoon we went and found Rebecca. The three of us had a fun tour of the Shaunavon Museum and art exhibit.

The next day we decided we would go to Simmie for a fishing trip.

Day 4

By Day 4 I was on my way to Shaunavon, finally. I left Chris' and started the on route to Shaunavon. Again I tried to race the clock and make it there in as short amount of time as possible on the Nighthawk. I made the trip with haste. Unfortunately Brembles was subject to a fatal dismount while I was passing a semi on the windy #3 HWY from Lethbridge to Taber. I didn't bother turning around to pick the little bear up, because it would have been a long search I didn't want to waste the effort on.

So as I headed through the familiar towns of southern Alberta such as Taber (Jared's Hometown!!) and Seven Persons, I decided to stop for a break at Canada's best butchery. When my Dad use to long haul with his semi he would stop in Seven Persons and buy us a bunch of fresh jerky and sausage from the Seven Persons Premium Sausage Inc. Butcher's shop. I had my delicious pork sausage and continued on.

When I got to Medicine Hat I knew I was almost home. The ride was still extremely windy. I made it to Gull Lake and gave Jenna a call on my cell. I told her I'd see her in 14 minutes (usually a 30 minute drive from GL to S). And I did exactly that. When I got home, I went and visited my new next door neighbours, the Cowans. Morgan and her Fam Jam had recently moved from their farm and into town. I visited with Jenna, her new dog Layla, Morgan, Gary, and Lorie. After that I went into the house and hung out with my Mom. She was happy to see I made it home safely.

I forget what I did that night. Probably just went on the computer and stayed up late.... End of Day 4.

Day 3

By Day 3 I was headed to go see Chris in Lethbridge.  I left the mountains around Waterton at about 10:00am or so.  The ride was still windy as hell, but it was one of the better highways I've ridden so far.  Very straight, and very clean.  It was another good oportunity to see how fast my bike goes.  The verdict:  Not fast enough (193 km/hr).  Brembles was holding on for his life, me too.

When I arrived at the Widdifield house, I chilled with Brad, Deb and Carianne until Chris got home.  They fed me and kept me company, because Chris didn't get home for another 45 minutes.  He rode like hell to get back home though, once his Mom called and said I arrived.

We cruised around Lethbridge for a while, he showed me where he worked and some of the houses he had done electrical work in.  We had supper at The Shark Club.  After that we headed back home, hung out, then went to The Simpsons Movie later on.

The next morning we took our bikes out for a little rip down Whoop Up and I got the chance to take the RR for a ride.  I was
too scared to do anything fun on it.

I only have a couple pictures from going to see Chris, here they are...
